Founder & CEO
Megan Thomas
Megan Thomas has 30+ years of experience building high value brands and products, both as a marketing leader and as an agency partner. She is a seasoned marketing strategist who is a regular speaker and writer in the FoodTech and Tech sectors.

She formerly served as VP, Marketing and Communications for Pairwise, representing marketing in the company's successful $90 million Series B round. Megan led the team that established the Pairwise corporate brand identity, the Fulcrum B2B platform brand, and the Conscious Foods consumer products brand. Megan also led marketing and product management for the first CRISPR food product launched into the North American market in 2023.

Managing brand portfolios up to $600 million in revenue, she has launched sub-brands and products in the plant-based meat alternative (Pure Farmland for Smithfield Foods) and personal care categories (Summer's Eve Night-Time Line), as well as repositioned under-achieving brands in the packaged meat and spice & seasoning categories. As Group VP of what is now MARS United Commerce, Megan led the GSK (now Haleon) consumer products and Abbott Nutrition businesses.

Megan hosts the FoodTech Stories podcast and is a former business journalist. She holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BA from Northwestern University.

Head, Creative Strategy & Creative Director
Kelly Hernandez
Kelly leads creative strategy and design for Ladder 17's clients. She brings almost two decades in B2B and B2C marketing, where she bridged the gap between insight-driven thinking and bold creative execution.

Kelly has built, scaled, and led teams and strategic creative direction across software, EdTech, publishing, lifestyle brands, nonprofits, business and financial services, and health & wellness. Her education and expertise range from user-first digital communications and storytelling, conversion-focused website and UX design, omnichannel brand marketing campaigns and communication protocols, to new product launches and rebrands, and short and long-form videos and content strategies.

Whether building brands from the ground up or launching new products into competitive markets, she has worked closely with founders, marketers, and product teams to develop creative that’s both visionary and grounded in real audience behavior.

Based in Chicago, Kelly currently serves as a volunteer and Business Mentor for Female Strong, a non-profit focused on young girls and entrepreneurship.

Katherine Barry
Katherine spearheads digital and business transformation strategy and delivery for Ladder 17's clients.

She brings six years of experience driving digital and business transformation initiatives within both the Investment and Wealth Management banking divisions of JPMorgan Chase in New York City and Delaware. Her work spans the full strategy-to-execution lifecycle — aligning cross-functional partners across business, design, compliance, and technology to deliver complex, high-impact programs. She operated as an embedded management consultant on the First Republic Bank acquisition, piloted and launched new CRM functionality nationally, and served as a strategic project lead for the CEO-backed Athlete Council launch this past March.

She received a BA cum laude from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University in Policy Studies, with minors in Marketing and History.

Megan Meyer, PhD
Megan Meyer is a seasoned PR and science communications pro with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

A former Senior Director of Science Communications for the International Food Information Council, Megan crafts compelling science communication strategies and secures earned media coverage in top science/tech, lifestyle, and business media outlets, including Prevention, Health, Fortune, NPR, and CNN.
